About this gallery
What the photos of John's Island show.
In the frames
- The royal-palm allée on the approach, the John's Island sign in its hedge, and the sand lanes under the live-oak canopy that give the community its look from the road.
- The oceanfront cabana pool, the dune walkovers, and a long empty stretch of the club's beach at mid-morning.
- Aerials over the North and South courses with lakes and estate lots in frame, the low-rise condominiums by the shared pools, and the tidal creeks along John's Island Sound on the lagoon side.
How it photographs
- Shade is the defining condition. Mature oaks close over most streets, so exteriors are shot for the dappled light rather than against it, and the aerials are what open the property up.
- Three architectural registers sit side by side: original 1970s club houses, rebuilt estates, and three-story condominium blocks in white and pale stucco.
- Two waterfronts. Ocean lots face a wide dune-backed beach; the western lots sit on the Sound with mangrove edges and marsh grass, which reads very differently from the air.

Media that earns its place.
What to book, and why
- Aerials do the work here. On a golf or Sound lot they are the only way to show which fairway or creek the house sits on, and on the ocean side they carry the beach.
- A walkthrough video suits the larger estates, where a photo set alone runs long and the sequence of rooms to the loggia to the pool is the story.
- Twilight exteriors work on the lagoon side, where lighting rules are not in play, and on courtyard pools screened from the beach.

Access
Staffed gate
Indian River Shores, Indian River County.
Gate codes and access instructions go in the property’s access notes when you book; the full terms are on the terms of service page.
Good to know
- Staffed gate: the listing agent registers the visit with the gatehouse, and the property's access notes on the booking should carry any instructions the guard will expect.
- The club's private amenities (beach club, courses, tennis and squash center) are members' facilities. Community frames in this gallery are for context; a listing shoot stays on the property and the streets.
- Sea-turtle nesting season runs March 1 to October 31. Lights visible from the beach must be off or turtle-friendly amber after 9 pm, which limits what a late twilight exterior can show from the ocean side; a blue-hour frame taken earlier is the usual answer.
- If the home is not ready when the photographer arrives, the shoot may go ahead as-is, be shortened, or be completed on a paid return visit.
