About this gallery

What the photos of Orchid Island show.

In the frames

  • The Orchid Island sign set into the coral-stone entry wall, the guardhouse, and the divided entrance drive.
  • Aerials of the beach club with its hip roofs and pool on the dune, the boardwalk down to the beach, and surf breaking on an empty shore.
  • The condominium courtyards: pools with blue-tiled fountains and orange loungers under palms, a lobby with its elevator and mail room, and a club room with wicker seating and a coffered ceiling.

How it photographs

  • British West Indies architecture throughout: hip roofs, deep porches, columns, and pastel stucco, which photograph cleanly in overcast light as well as sun.
  • Ocean to lagoon in one property line, so the aerial gives an oceanfront condominium both waters in a single frame.
  • Landscaping is formal and maintained to a club standard, which means exteriors need little preparation and courtyards read well from above.

Media that earns its place.

What to book, and why

  • Aerials are expected on any oceanfront or golf listing here and are what distinguish a second-floor unit from a first.
  • A walkthrough video suits the estate homes, where the porch-to-pool-to-beach sequence is the point.
  • Photos plus aerials are enough for most condominiums; the club context comes from this gallery.
  • The Minimalist

    $325

Photos plus about six aerials for an oceanfront or golf condominium under 3,000 sq ft.

Plan on about 1 hour on site.

  • The Whole Shebang

    $925

Photos, aerials, video, Zillow 3D, and floor plan for an estate where the video carries the porch-to-beach sequence.

Plan on about 3½ hours on site.

Access

Staffed gate

Orchid, Indian River County.

Gate codes and access instructions go in the property’s access notes when you book; the full terms are on the terms of service page.

Good to know

  • Staffed gate: the listing agent registers the visit with the gatehouse, and the property's access notes on the booking should carry any instructions the guard will expect.
  • Common areas (lobby, pool deck, beach walkover) are photographed from the areas open to residents and guests; check with the association before a shoot that needs a locked amenity room opened.
  • Sea-turtle nesting season runs March 1 to October 31. Lights visible from the beach must be off or turtle-friendly amber after 9 pm, which limits what a late twilight exterior can show from the ocean side; a blue-hour frame taken earlier is the usual answer.
  • Oceanfront aerials are flown over the property and the dune line, then out over the water for the return view; wind off the Atlantic can ground a flight on days that look calm from the street.
