DuBois Park

DuBois Park at the mouth of the Jupiter Inlet, photographed into sunset: the lighthouse across the water, wading birds on the limestone, the jetty anglers and the boats working the channel.

About this gallery

What the photos of DuBois Park show.

In the frames

  • The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse across the Intracoastal in several frames — full-height above the hammock, framed past a palm trunk from the park's beach, and again with a sailboat anchored under it and a centre-console running the channel.
  • The waterline itself: a little blue heron working the anastasia limestone at the edge, coconut palms against a clean sky with birds settled in the crowns, and a work boat stacked with net traps taking the low light off the water.
  • The inlet after the sun has gone — two anglers on the concrete jetty platform against the Atlantic surf under a pink sky, and a light aircraft crossing low overhead through the fronds.

How it photographs

  • The inlet opens west across the Intracoastal, so unlike most of this coast the last hour of light arrives off the water rather than from behind the buildings; the lighthouse, the anchored boats and the limestone all take it directly.
  • Anastasia limestone at the waterline is the texture that separates this park from a sand beach — pitted, cream to ochre in low light, and the reason the wading birds work the edge here.
  • It is a working inlet as much as a park. Charter and centre-console traffic runs the channel through the whole golden hour, and a boat is in more of these frames than not.
  • The county's own landmarks sit inside it: the DuBois Pioneer Home on its shell mound and the Jupiter Inlet Mound, both on the National Register of Historic Places.

What to book, and why

  • This is location work, not a listing: the frames exist as context for the inlet end of Jupiter rather than as a property shoot, and the studio has no listing gallery in this city yet.
  • A listing near the inlet gains from an aerial that establishes the same relationship these frames show from the ground — where the property sits relative to the channel, the lighthouse and the ocean.
  • Twilight is the hour that suits this stretch, for the reason above: a west-facing outlook over the Intracoastal keeps its light after an east-facing one has lost it.
  • Aerial Photography

    $175

Aerials on their own, when a listing near the inlet needs the water, the channel and the lighthouse in the same frame.

Plan on about 30 minutes on site.

  • The Minimalist

$325For Homes Less Than 3,000 Sq Ft.

Photos plus about five aerials for a home under 3,000 sq ft, the standard set for this end of Jupiter.

Plan on about 1 hour on site.

  • The Whole Shebang

    $925

Photos, aerials, video, Zillow 3D and a floor plan in one visit for a waterfront listing carrying the whole story.

Plan on about 3½ hours on site.

Access

Open streets

Jupiter, Palm Beach County.

Gate codes and access instructions go in the property’s access notes when you book; the full terms are on the terms of service page.

Good to know

  • A public county park, not a gated community: no gate code, no association to notify — and no control over who is in frame. The anglers and the passing boats are part of what the place is.
  • Palm Beach County guards the swimming areas daily from Memorial Day until county schools return in August, and weekends only through the rest of the year; how busy the beach reads in a frame follows that calendar.
  • The pink-sky frames here are after sunset, not before it. The usable window at the inlet runs past the sun going down, because the light is coming across open water rather than over rooftops.
